Ensemble Ornatus

Medieval and Renaissance Music

Intro

Ensemble Ornatus is an Early Music ensemble in alternating instrumentation, specializing in the repertoire of the late Medieval era to the late Renaissance. Depending on the chosen programme, the instrumental composition of the ensemble consists of medieval fiddles, recorders, harp, clavicymbalum and of Renaissance recorders, viols, as well as harpsichord or organ. In addition to the instrumental settings comes the sound of the human voice, giving declamatory expressiveness to the musical formations.
